It's necessary so that people do not make conflicting changes, or duplicate their work or miss something that they assumed someone else would do.

Maybe you can think of it this way.... If a single person does all the work then the coordination overhead is eliminated or greatly reduced. The problems of conflicting changes, etc are easily handled by a single person. (They are not entirely eliminated depending on the person's memory - there may still be the overhead of having to write things down in order not to forget them.)

A team of people allows things to be done more quickly than a single person since different people can perform different aspects of the ob (and even be specialists in different areas). However, if the job cannot be easily split into distinct tasks then the team has to communicate to prevent the above-mentioned problems.

As the team size increases then the job needs to be split into more distinct tasks for each of the team members. As the numbers of tasks increases the chance that at least some are closely related increases. Hence, the chances are that as the team size increases the coordination would increase exponentially (or worse).

I hope this makes sense to you.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09583922517961948560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7237530825191390698.post-71841217860709877012015-04-02T12:17:18.487+11:002015-04-02T12:17:18.487+11:00I dont know why coordination increase as team incr...I dont know why coordination increase as team increase.
